The short answer

Jobsite Funding finances construction equipment from $10,000 to $2,000,000 over 24 to 72 months at 7.9% to 24.9% APR, underwritten in-house. You need a 600+ FICO, 6 months in business, and $180,000 in trailing-12-month deposits.

Down payment runs 0%–15% on new and 10%–25% on used, with private-party purchases typically adding 5%–10%. Dealer and auction purchases fund in 24–72 hours; private-party deals add 3–7 days for a lien search, title verification and inspection. The equipment is the collateral.

APR 7.9%–24.9%. Best pricing goes to 680+ FICO with 24+ months in business. Files in the 600–640 band price toward the top half and are typically asked for 15%–25% down. Private-party purchases add 5%–10% to the down payment. Used machines price slightly higher within the band and carry shorter terms as the machine ages.

Age and hours: what we will actually finance

We will finance a machine other lenders bounce. Banks generally cap financed equipment at roughly 7–10 years old at loan maturity, which means a 5-year bank term will not cover a machine already 5 years old at purchase. We finance 12–15-year-old dozers and rebuilt dump trucks with 15%–25% down and a shortened term.

Hours matter more than age on hydraulic machines. Under 800 hours a year of planned use, used is usually the better economics. Above 1,500 hours a year on a frontline machine, buy new or low-hour used — and we will price it accordingly.

Buying at auction or from another contractor

Auction and private-party purchases are where contractors find the real value, and where most lenders quietly say no. We do them.

Auction: send us the lot listing and the buyer's premium and we can issue a pre-approval before the hammer, so you know your ceiling in the room.

Private party: add 3–7 days for a UCC and lien search, title verification, and a third-party inspection. The seller is paid by wire at closing — not by you, up front, hoping the title is clean.

Section 179, plainly

Section 179. Equipment you finance and place in service can generally be deducted under Section 179 up to $2,560,000 for tax year 2026, with the deduction phasing out above $4,090,000 of qualifying property placed in service (IRS Publication 946). The deduction applies to financed equipment — you do not have to pay cash for the machine to take it.

We are a lender, not your accountant. Confirm your specific situation with your CPA before you buy a machine in December because of a deduction.

Off-Season Step-Down: name up to 4 slow months at application and payments in those months are 40% of the in-season payment, with the deferred principal re-amortized across the in-season months. Criteria last reviewed: 21 October 2026

Seasonal and project-lumpy revenue. We gate on $180,000 of trailing-12-month deposits rather than a 3-month average, we allow up to 2 months under $5,000 in that window with no explanation required, and we size the offer off your 3 strongest consecutive months. Off-Season Step-Down drops your payment to 40% in up to 4 months you name at application, written into the contract at origination.

Equipment-specific: equipment payments are fixed monthly, not weekly. If your trade shuts down for a season, ask the underwriter about a 90-day deferred first payment on machines purchased going into your slow months — common on spring-delivery earthmoving.

Equipment financing, answered

What credit score do I need to finance construction equipment?
600+ is the published floor at Jobsite Funding. Files in the 550–600 band are workable with 20%–25% down and compensating factors — time in business, a strong trailing twelve, or a machine with clean resale value.
Can I finance used equipment?
Yes. Used machines are the majority of what we finance. Expect 10%–25% down depending on class and age, and a term shortened as the machine ages.
How old is too old?
There is no hard age cap. We regularly finance 12–15-year-old dozers and rebuilt dump trucks with 15%–25% down and a shortened term. Hours and condition matter more than model year on hydraulic machines.
Can I finance from a private seller?
Yes. Private-party purchases add 3–7 days for a UCC and lien search, title verification and a third-party inspection, and typically 5%–10% to the down payment. The seller is paid by wire at closing.
How much down payment do you need?
0%–15% on new and 10%–25% on used, by equipment class. Dozers, graders, lifts and cranes sit at the top of those ranges; attachments, service vans and shop equipment at the bottom.
Do you finance attachments on their own?
Yes, from $10,000. Buckets, breakers, augers, grapples and mulchers are financeable without a machine purchase attached to them.
Is it a lease or a loan?
A loan, documented as an equipment finance agreement. You own the machine and we hold the lien until it is paid off. There is no residual and no buyout.
Can I pay it off early?
Yes. There is no prepayment penalty and interest stops when the balance is retired.
Does equipment debt affect my bonding capacity?
It can. Equipment debt sits on the balance sheet, so your surety should see the term sheet before you sign. Talk to your bonding agent — we will send the terms directly to them if you ask.
What documents do you need?
The application, 6 months of business bank statements, a driver's license, a voided business check, and the invoice, quote or lot listing for the machine. Private-party purchases also need the title and the seller's information.

The machine is on the lot Thursday. We can be done by Wednesday.
