How much can a contractor borrow, and how fast?

Jobsite Funding funds contractors $10,000 to $2,000,000 in-house, and up to $10,000,000 through our bank and SBA partners. Complete files received before 11:00 AM ET fund the same business day, and 24 hours is typical. Your amount is sized off your 3 strongest consecutive months of deposits, not your 12-month average.

Who funds what. Working capital and the Drawline line of credit are underwritten and funded in-house by Jobsite Funding. Invoice factoring is placed with specialty construction factors, and term loans and SBA loans are placed with our bank and SBA lending partners. On a partner product we underwrite the file and name the partner before you sign anything.

How much: the range by product

The answer depends on which product fits your situation, because the in-house and partner products have different ceilings and very different timelines.

How your number is sized

To qualify, you need $180,000 in trailing-12-month business deposits and 6 months in business. Mathematically that is the same as a $15,000-a-month average, but it is a different filter, because it does not care which three months you happened to apply in. Up to 2 months under $5,000 in the last 12 are allowed with no explanation.

The amount is then sized off your 3 strongest consecutive months, because peak season is when the obligation actually gets serviced. Averaging a seasonal business under-funds it in the only months it can use the money. We do not publish a fixed multiple; underwriting sets the final figure after reading the file.

Earned-but-unpaid revenue counts too. Approved pay applications, signed subcontracts with a schedule of values, and retainage receivable are accepted as revenue evidence. As our resources page puts it, a sub with $310,000 in approved-but-unpaid pay apps is not a $12,000-a-month business just because that is what cleared the bank in September.

A worked example

A 9-year electrical sub does $1.4M a year: June through October runs $180,000 a month, December through February $40,000 a month. Three statements pulled in January show $40,000 a month, and a lender using a 3-month average sees a winter business. We read the trailing twelve, size off June through August, and the sub takes $150,000 over 12 months, remitted weekly, with December through February elected as step-down months at 40% of the in-season payment. That example is illustrative; actual terms are set by underwriting.

How fast, step by step

Apply in about 4 minutes. It is $0, and a soft pull with no impact to your credit score. Talk to an underwriter the same business day; a person reads every file and calls you. Sign a 2-page agreement with the total, the remittance and the early-payoff discount on it. On complete files received before 11:00 AM ET, the wire goes the same day.

A complete file means the application, 6 months of business bank statements, a driver's license and a voided business check. What slows a file down: missing statements, statements that are all low-season (we will ask for the prior 6 rather than decline you), or an open advance that was not disclosed. Partner products take longer by nature: 2 to 4 weeks for a term loan and 4 to 10 weeks for SBA.

What it costs

Working capital is one fixed total cost in dollars over 3 to 18 months, disclosed before you sign, with no origination fee added after approval. The Drawline is 1.8% to 4% per 30 days on the drawn balance only. Early payoff on in-house products takes up to 30% off the remaining cost of funding, and at 50% paid down you can take more without a new application.

What you'll need

  • Your EIN and business legal name. Sole proprietor, LLC, S-corp, C-corp and partnership are all eligible.
  • 6 months of business bank statements — PDF upload, or link the account securely in about 60 seconds, which also lets us pull a 12-month deposit summary.
  • A driver's license and a voided business check.
  • Approved pay apps, signed subcontracts or a retainage schedule if you have them — they frequently move the offer.
  • Your slow months. You will be asked to name up to 4 for Off-Season Step-Down; it affects your payment, not your approval.

Questions that usually follow

What is the most a contractor can borrow from Jobsite Funding?
$2,000,000 in-house on working capital, and up to $10,000,000 through our bank and SBA partners. The Drawline line of credit runs up to $500,000.
What is the smallest amount you fund?
$10,000 on working capital and the Drawline. Once a Drawline is open, the minimum draw is $2,500.
How fast can a contractor actually get the money?
Same business day on complete files received before 11:00 AM ET, and 24 hours is typical. A complete file is the application, 6 months of business bank statements, a driver's license and a voided business check.
How do you decide how much I qualify for?
Off your 3 strongest consecutive months of deposits in the trailing twelve, not the 12-month average. Approved pay applications, signed subcontracts with a schedule of values and retainage receivable are counted as earned-not-yet-paid revenue.
Can I get more money later?
Yes. At 50% paid down on working capital you can take additional capital without a new application, because the file is already underwritten.
